The Nigeria Police led by the Inspector-General of Police, Ibrahim Kpotun Idris, in a bid to reaffirm the continued commitment of the police to stemming the tide of corruption in Nigeria as well as improving transparency and accountability within the force and the management of the Akin Fadeyi Foundation (AFF), a Non-Governmental Organisation promoting anti-corruption advocacy in Nigeria are set to unveil their recently consummated partnership at the International Conference Centre in Abuja tomorrow, Thursday 20th April.
The partnership between AFF and the police according to the AFF Executive Director, Akin Fadeyi themed, ‘Towards a more friendly Police’ will be a clear signal to the world that the Nigerian Police is one founded on best practices.
“We are excited to see the partnership between us and the Police come to a grand point. To us this is not just a launch, but a strong signal to all Nigerians and the International Community that the Nigerian Police, more than any other time in the nation’s history, is fully committed to international Policing best practices,” Fadeyi stated.
He noted further that the launch will be hosted by Mr Ibrahim K. Idris NPM, Mni, the Inspector General of Police while the keynote address will be delivered by Mr Abubakar Malami SAN, the Honourable Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice.
The event will also serve as the Official Premier of the Corruption: Not in My Country Police Anti-Corruption Advocacy Drama Skits, produced with support from the EU-Funded UNDP/UNODC programme.
The grand launch will be attended by Open Governance stakeholders including Government Agencies, Civil Society Coalitions, the National Assembly, representative of the Diplomatic community, International Development Partners, Academics and the Media.
