Idjerhe monarch to be buried weekend

ACTIVITIES marking the final burial of the late monarch of idjerhe kingdom, Ethiope West LGA of Delta State, HRM Edward Igho Otadaferua, JP, Pnm, Eriekevwe 1, will begin this weekend.

A statement on Wednesday by the chairman of the burial committee, Okakuro Godwin Ofishe, says activities lined up between 25th January to 8th February 2019, start with a novelty match and service of songs on Friday while another novelty match/Nigeria Football Supporters Club/Children day will follow on Saturday.

It added that ‘’all other ceremonies, including burials, marriages, among others, are forbidden in the kingdom within the period.’’

Iniovo day will come up on Saturday while Emese day comes up on Monday. Other activities include Ubrievwie day, Iruemo day and Chiefs/In-Laws day. The grand ceremony is to follow on 2/2/2019 while Royal Visit/Lecture and UPU/ICDU day follow.

Others include homage by non-indigenes, Idjerhe Central community dance troupes, Onyobru/Boboroku community dance troupes, Prayer for the land/Thanksgiving are to follow while Family Thanksgiving Service will follow on 10/2/2019, at Anglican Church, Jesse.
