Idi-Oro community appeals to Oyo govt over bad road

RESIDENTS of Idi-Oro community, Soka in Oluyole Local Government Area of Oyo -State have appealed to the state government to come to their aid by rehabilitating the major road in the area.

The people said the road is bad to the extent that it is no longer pliable for road users, especially motorists.

The public relations office (PRO) of the community, Mr Muhydeen Babatunde, said the road is getting worse, just as the people living in the area are increasing on a daily basis.

In a release signed by the PRO, shortly after the last meeting of landlords and tenants, the community called on Governor Seyi Makinde to come to their aid by ensuring that the road is reconstructed in earnest.

A resident of the area, Mr Tobiloba Olajide, said the road is one of the shortest routes that link other communities.

Also speaking, Mr Kehinde Adebayo said that landlords in the area had, on many occasions, repaired the road for their convenience but when it rained, it washed away.

“We want the state government to rehabilitate the road before the rainy season through the Oyo State Road Maintenance Agency (OYSROMA) so as to alleviate our suffering,” the residents said.
