The Bauchi State chapter of the Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ) has donated learning and instructional materials to Government Girls Secondary School (GGSS) Kofar Wambai in celebration of the 2024 International Day of the Girl Child (IDGG).
The donated items included textbooks, whiteboards, dusters, and markers, aimed at enhancing the learning and teaching processes at the school.
The theme for this year’s International Day for the Girl Child is “Girls Vision for the Future.” Rashida Yusuf, the Chairperson of Bauchi State NAWOJ, reaffirmed the Association’s commitment to advocating for girl child education and promoting adolescent health.
She emphasized that NAWOJ will continue to intensify its sensitization campaigns to support girls in realizing their potential.

Yusuf highlighted the importance of mentoring and counseling girls in various fields to help them succeed. She stated, “We donated these items to contribute to the development of girls in all aspects of human endeavors,” underscoring the belief that nurturing young talent in schools is crucial for fostering uniqueness and contributing to overall human development.
In response, Mrs. Aisha Mohammed, the Vice Principal of GGSS Kofar Wambai, expressed gratitude for the donation, noting that the materials would significantly support the learning process. She urged NAWOJ to organize more programs to educate girls on different career paths.
Students at the school also expressed their appreciation for the donation, stating that it would enhance their learning environment. They encouraged NAWOJ members to make frequent visits, which they believe would motivate them in their career choices and aspirations.
