ICF distributes food palliatives to 500 households in Oyo

AN Islamic humanitarian organisation with a vision to ensure zero hunger and empower the needy, widows, orphans, and other underprivileged members of society, Irorun-Ni Charitable Foundation (ICF), has concluded its state-wide 2025 Mega Iftar programme with the distribution of food palliatives to 500 households in Oke-Ogun Zone 1, which includes Atisbo, Saki East, and Saki West.

The distribution of food items, including packaged rice, spaghetti, noodles, and garri, took place in Saki. This event followed the hosting of 2,000 Muslims in Oyo State for Iftar across 10 zones, as delineated by ICF, to ensure a large number of people benefited from the relief packages.

Speaking on behalf of the Executive Chairman of Irorun-Ni Charitable Foundation, Ambassador Shakirullah Jimoh-Orankan, ICF Vice Chairman, Sheikh Mansur Abdusalam-Murtadho, emphasised the importance of unity, tolerance, and the pursuit of a common goal among Muslims to retain their rightful positions in society.

“We (Muslims) have a comprehensive manual, the Qur’an, which provides direction for our affairs; let us follow its injunctions,” he urged.

Sheikh Abdusalam-Murtadho also mentioned that Ambassador Jimoh-Orankan, who was recently turbaned as the Aare Alaranse Adinni of Oyo State by the League of Imams and Alfas under the chairmanship of the Chief Imam of Ibadan, Sheikh AbdulGaniy Abubakr Agbotomokekere, remains unwavering in his efforts to alleviate suffering among the masses.

ICF National Treasurer, Dr. Muhammad-Lawal Musa Alongbija, noted that the Mega Iftar was designed to bring relief to Muslims, reiterating the foundation’s commitment to doing more for humanity without discrimination.

According to him, the relief packages will be delivered regularly to those in need, in line with the foundation’s unwavering commitment to improving the quality of life for all.

While overseeing the distribution of the palliatives, the Bagii of Saki, High Chief AbdurRasheed Adegoke, the special guest at the event, acknowledged the impact of Ambassador Jimoh-Orankan’s contributions to poverty alleviation, community development, and humanitarian services, praying to Allah to expand his resources for the continuation of his good work.
