Ibom Air wins big at African Travel Quarterly Travellers Awards 2024

Akwa Ibom State government owned airline, Ibom Air has been announced as “The Best Airline of the Year” for the third consecutive year at the African Travel Quarterly Travelers Award ceremony, 2024 for her performance as a domestic airline and pivotal role in shaping the aviation sector.

Speaking on the award, th Executive Director and Chief Operating Officer of Ibom Air, Mr.George Uriesi, expressed gratitude for the recognition, “We are honoured and humbled to receive the ‘Best Airline of the Year’ award for the third consecutive year. We dedicate it to our customers, who have stuck with us through thick and thin and for whom we will continue to work hard every day to meet their very high expectations’,he said.

“We also acknowledge and thank African Travel Quarterly Magazine for the painstaking, objective,  data-based process they follow in conferring these awards on recipients. This prestigious accolade validates our commitment and rewards the tireless efforts of our entire workforce.

“At Ibom Air, we acknowledge that our passengers are the cornerstone of our endeavors. Their loyalty and confidence have been instrumental in shaping our triumphs and propelling us to continually strive for service excellence. Awards like this serve to encourage us tremendously.

“In celebration of this significant milestone, Ibom Air is thrilled to unveil its forthcoming plans to elevate the travel experience of our passengers by introducing the cutting-edge Airbus A220-300, set to commence operations imminently.

This state-of-the-art aircraft will revolutionise standards of comfort, reliability and efficiency in domestic and regional air travel while also stabilising our schedule to match what our passengers have come to expect from us.

The award event, held at the National Museum, Lagos, had in attendance the Minister of Tourism of  Nigeria,  Ms. Lola-Ade John, the Commissioner for Culture and Tourism Akwa Ibom State, Sir Charles Udo, and several other Tourism Commissioners from other states of the federation.
