Ibilade Adesokan: African entrepreneur creating sustainable ecosystems

Ibilade Adesokan is a name that resonates with innovation, resilience, and a deep commitment to driving positive change across Africa.

A seasoned African entrepreneur and founder of Into Group, Adesokan’s journey is one marked by a relentless pursuit of sustainable solutions aimed at empowering communities and creating opportunities for future generations.

Born with a passion for higher education, legitimate migration, and entrepreneurship, Adesokan’s career has been anything but conventional. What began as Into University, a home-based teaching platform designed to help students access education, has since blossomed into a diverse and successful business conglomerate. Into Group today spans several industries, each linked by a common goal: to make a meaningful impact on Africa’s development.

Into Group’s journey began with the humble roots of Into University, which focused on providing quality home lessons. Seeing the demand for more comprehensive solutions, Adesokan expanded the business into multiple sectors. One of the notable expansions was Into Migration, a platform dedicated to assisting individuals seeking relocation opportunities to countries around the world. It quickly became one of the leading services for Africans looking to explore migration as a means of personal and professional growth.

But Adesokan did not stop there. His entrepreneurial spirit led him to establish Washergirls, one of the first laundromat services in Ilorin, which provided convenience to the local community while creating employment opportunities. This business venture, along with the real estate arm of the group based in Abuja, solidified the versatility and far-reaching impact of Into Group.

Another noteworthy achievement is Providence Point, a mentorship and consulting program that offers guidance to startups and entrepreneurs. The initiative aims to foster innovation and entrepreneurship, empowering individuals to take bold steps toward building sustainable businesses.

“I’ve always been driven by the need to solve problems and create lasting solutions for Africa. From education to migration, from real estate to food distribution, I believe that every sector has the potential to contribute to Africa’s future,” said Adesokan, reflecting on his entrepreneurial journey.

Adesokan’s efforts have not gone unnoticed. He has received numerous accolades, but it is the Global Entrepreneurship Award for Sustainable Business of the Year and the ECOWAS Ambassadorial Award that stands out among his achievements. These honours are a testament to his commitment to building businesses that not only thrive but also contribute to societal growth and sustainability.

“Winning these awards is humbling, but they are just milestones on a much larger journey. The real reward is seeing the positive change that my businesses bring to Africa,” he said.

With Into Group’s rapid growth, Adesokan has set his sights on creating a more sustainable ecosystem across Africa. His work in food distribution, mining, and higher education is all part of a broader vision to address some of the continent’s most pressing challenges.

“Our continent is rich in resources, both human and natural. I believe in harnessing these resources sustainably to create an ecosystem that supports job creation, entrepreneurship, and education for all. By creating these ecosystems, we can ensure that Africa is no longer just a place where challenges are faced, but a continent where solutions are born,” Adesokan explained.

Today, excuses are often used as a device to avoid work and this leads to failures. His most used mantra—“Excuses Get Nothing Done”—reminds us of the power of action and the importance of creating solutions rather than waiting for them to appear.

Adesokan is undoubtedly one of the most influential African entrepreneurs of our time, poised to leave an indelible mark on the continent’s development.
