The vice chancellor, Professor Mohammad Maiturare, stated this on Tuesday in Minna during a media parley.
He said over 13,000 candidates applied for admission to the university this year, while it has 2,930 admission quota this year.
Maiturare, however, commended JAMB for its policies, decisions and activities as well as its policy making body that based this year’s admission cut-off point at 120 for university and 100 for polytechnics.
He stressed further that every university has the right to decide on its admission policy based on its policy guidelines as well as its quota system.
Professor Maiturare further disclosed that IBBUL management had carried out statistics of UTME applicants for the 2017/2018 academic year, adding that while the candidates that scored 170 to 179 were about 1,690, candidates with 180 marks and above were 2,971.
