Ibagun community begs Reps member over Ondoko-Okelele police station

People of Ibagun community in Ilorin East Local Government Area of Kwara State have sought the support of the lawmaker representing Ilorin East and South constituency in the House of Representatives, Honourable Yinka Aluko, for the completion of the ongoing divisional police headquarters project in the community.

Leaders of the community made the request during a visit to the constituency office of the lawmaker in Ilorin,.

Chairman of Ibagun Progressive Union (IPU), Alhaji Kuranga Omomeji Morogun, who led the community’s delegation to the lawmaker’s office, canvassed the completion of the police station project by the lawmaker.

“We are making a special appeal to you as a lawmaker representing us to give urgent attention to the completion of divisional police headquarters, located at Ondoko area, Okelele, Ilorin. This project is dear to us as community people.

“We don’t joke with the issue of security because it is significant to every other development. That is why we take it as our number one priority. What remains for police station to be completed is perimeter fencing, purchasing of light weapons and patrol vehicle.

“We need your assistance in getting all these items as soon as possible. We could not afford the cost as a community. Moreover, it is a constituency project initiated by your predecessor and we believe that government is a continuum,” the community said.

The coordinator of IPU, Raid Ajao, lauded the impact made by Honourable Aluko when he was a special adviser on security matters to a former Kwara State governor.

“We know you as a man of action right from your time as special adviser on security matters to the governor and this ignites our confidence in you on this our request tailored towards achieving peace and stability in our community,” Ajao said.

In his response, a senior legislative assistant to the lawmaker, Yusuf Kayode, who received the visitors on behalf of his principal, lauded members of the delegation for being pillars of development in Ibagun/Okelele community.

“Aluko holds the people of Ibagun/Okelele community in high esteem due to the votes he garnered from the area in the last general election and, as such, their needs will be attended to as soon as the 10th National Assembly gets cash backing for the constituency projects,” Kayode said.
