“Accreditation and re-accreditation, which is an annual event, is a very expensive project that is a must for all institutions. On our part, we have ensured that we maintain the reputation and the standard, while we have also shown improvement to maintain our standard as a leader in polytechnic education in the country,” he said.
In his response, the leader of the team, Mallam Musa Isgogo, disclosed that the essence of accreditation and re-accreditation is to ensure quality control of the programmes run by various institutions.
He added that institutions under the board must have modern equipment and facilities to meet the NBTE’s requirements for the programmes they run, and that any institution that fails in this respect is denied accreditation.
Isgogo said further that the institutional accreditation is meant to ensure that the institution has adequate facilities such as health centre, staff and students accommodation, offices for administrative and teaching staff, among others.
He then commended the rector, management and staff of The Polytechnic, for efforts made towards ensuring the quality of programmes and facilities in the institution.
He also advised the institution to adhere strictly to the recommendations made by the resource persons after the accreditation exercise in the overall interest of the institution.
