‘Ibadan, next best location for real estate investment after Lagos’

Ibadan, the capital of Oyo State has been described as the next best location for real estate investment after Lagos, Nigeria’s commercial nerve centre.

An expert in real estate, Adophy Uche of MKH Properties Limited said this while speaking at the Skill Up Real Estate Conference organised by Higher Life Properties Consult Limited, which took place at UI Hotels, University of Ibadan, recently.

The conference was organised to sensitise young people and the university community at large on the investment opportunities available in real estate and how to take advantage of them.

Uche told participants at the event that a lot of development has come into Ibadan over the last two years. However, he added that prospective investors must come in with a plan. “You must know your desired outcomes and lay them out,” he said.

The event also saw the co-founders of Higher Life Properties Consult Limited, Ambassadors Kayode Ishola and Victor Ohwo, receiving honorary doctorate degrees from the Chartered Institute of Public Resources Management and Politics (CIPRMP).

Executive Director of CIPRMP, Dr Ani Freeman, said that the awards were in recognition of the co-founders’ achievement and impact in the real estate industry.

He said, “Over the years, Higher Life Properties Consult Limited has brought dreams to reality by providing affordable homeownership solutions to individuals, families and corporate organisations across social economic classes within Ibadan and beyond.

“As one of the top real estate companies in Ibadan, we at CIPRMP are proud of your achievements and impact, and we are in Nigeria to identify and celebrate both of you for the indelible marks you continue to leave on the sands of time. We celebrate your uprightness, forthrightness, and integrity in an industry that is mostly seen as chaotic and fraudulent.”

In his acceptance speech, Ohwo said, “This will motivate us to do more in the industry and affect the lives of youth more positively going forward.”

On his part, Ishola said, “We will continue to give our all and the best to leave an enduring legacy of integrity in our daily pursuit, God helping us.”
