It was the first edition of ‘Ibadan Means Business’ recently. Networking, ideas and new entrepreneurship narratives saturated the atmosphere at Wennovation Hub, Ibadan where the maiden edition of “Ibadan Means Business” took place recently.
The conference, convened by Taiwo Adeyemi, WeldoneAfrica’s managing partner, had the mission of debunking the misconceptions about working and living successfully on Ibadan.
The facilitators included the Special Assistant to Oyo State Governor on new and digital media, Babajide Fadoju, who addressed pressing issues concerning heavy taxes on business owners and funding support for entrepreneurs and entertainment from the government. Tinuola Ayanniyi of Nigerian Tribune, Adeola Layade of Exquisito Confectioneries, Olumide Adeleye of Twim Academy and Ferdinand Adimefe of Imaginarium all reiterated the fact that one can live, work and be successful in Ibadan without looking for greener pastures in other Nigerian cities.
