Ibadan marathon, aerobics tourney holds May 7

The maiden edition of the Ere-Ije Ibadan marathon and aerobics tourney is scheduled to hold on May 7.

The different locations in Ibadan where the athletics and aerobics events will hold are Adamasingba, University of Ibadan, Agodi Gardens, Mapo Hall and Challenge.

Coordinator, Ambiance Media Limited, which is major organiser of the event, Mr Adebayo George, made this known during the unveiling of the identity for the event.

Speaking, Adebayo said the Ere-Ije is an all-encompassing aerobics and marathon tourney which will discover and nurture talents for international exploits.

He added that the tournament also aims to project many unique tourist attractions of Ibadan to the global space and stimulate the social and economic activities of the state.

Adebayo also spoke of plans to have globally renowned athletes and personalities attend the event.

He said a portal for willing contestants to register is set to be floated.

In her remarks, the Executive Director, Ambiance Media Limited, Mrs Omolade Adesokan, thanked the Oyo State Government for its support for the event, while assuring prospective participants, partners, brands and sponsors that the event will project them to local and international level.
