The much-anticipated ‘beardgang’ movement party will today storm Ibadan, the Oyo State capital as bearded people from within and outside the state are expected to grace the maiden edition of the event.

Talks about the beardgang partyy had been on for weeks as the convener, Akinade Akintayo during a press briefing in Ibadan on Thursday disclosed that the idea of having such a party in Ibadan came up after meeting with some top business executives, who shared in the vision of having a community of bearded people.

The beardgang party which will hold at the Mingles lounge, Jericho/Eleyele road, Ibadan will attract popular music acts from Lagos and Ibadan even as the organisers assured that the day would not only attempt to bridge the gap between high and low in the society, but also gives voice to the voiceless by raising awareness campaign through various developmental discussions.

Speaking on the dream, Akinade said the face for him, is an art, which could be described as painting that draws attention to anyone coming in contact with it.

“The strength needed to make beards grow and still look good is a very peculair endurance that requires self determination to let it grow fine and well kept. All these attributes are very special to me and I have always had this idea of bringing such like minds together to annex the awesome energy towards what our immediate society will feel,” he said.

On the benefits of what the beardgang party bonding would bring, Akinade said: “The coming together as a bearded people community is a good opportunity for us to prove to everyone that bearded people are wonderful and compassionate in nature, and in view of this, we cherish this fellowship  and we will do all we can to make the nation feel our impact as a group that stands for all.”
