IAWPA commends CCII, Gov Makinde on new Olubadan palace

THE director of the International Association of World Peace Advocates (IAWPA) in Oyo State, Dr Muhammad-Lawal Musa Alongbija, has commended the Central Council of Ibadan Indigenes (CCII) under the leadership of Chief Sulaiman Ajeniyi Ajewole on the “fruitful” efforts towards the completion of the ultramodern Olubadan palace situated at Oke-Aremo, Ibadan.

In a statement made available to newsmen in Ibadan, Dr Alongbija equally praised the support and commitment of the Oyo State governor, Mr Seyi Makinde, to the timely completion of the royal edifice.

“Governor Makinde and the CCII have written their names in history as true descendants of Ibadan, with strong determination to work for the preservation and advancement of Ibadan and its socio-cultural heritages,” Alongbija said.

He described the gesture as a manifestation of Governor Makinde’s resolve and passion to uphold culture and tradition and ensure the development of Ibadan in particular and the state in general.

The IAWPA state director also saluted the “statesmanship and uncommon magnanimity” of the Otun Olubadan, High Chief Rasheed Ladoja, towards sustaining the “unique and orderly” succession to the Olubadan throne.

He stressed that “such courageous overture aptly fits as a memorable historical feat to the admiration of all sons and daughters of the city of Ogunmola.”

He felicitated the CCII, Governor Makinde and the Olubadan-in-Council on the coronation of Oba Owolabi Olakulehin as the 43rd Olubadan of Ibadan.

“On behalf of IAWPA, I join other well-wishers to pray for Solomonic wisdom for our respected Oba Owolabi Olakulehin, the 43rd Olubadan of Ibadanland,” he said.
