THE member-elect for Ibadan Southwest/Northwest federal constituency, Adedeji Olajide, has expressed his appreciation to the people of the federal constituency for standing with him during the last Saturday election.

He has however promised not to disappoint the people of the constituency.

Adedeji in a statement by his media office on Monday said he was ready to translate his promises during the electioneering campaigns to action by ensuring the development of the area.

According to him, the results of the election had shown that the people wanted a new lease of life, saying this made them vote for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

He, however, said that the people of Ibadan northwest and southwest local government areas would start to experience qualitative and unparalleled representation when he assumes office as their representative from May this year.

“My profound appreciation goes to the entire voters and people of Ibadan Southwest/Northwest federal constituency that trooped out last Saturday to cast their votes for the PDP, I can never take your support for granted. I want to assure you that a new breath will be witnessed in terms of representation and delivery of dividends of democracy.

“As we highlighted during our campaigns, we will initiate and ensure the passage of laws that will make life more meaningful to our people, while we will also concentrate on youths and women empowerment. I want to assure that the programmes that we have shared with our people will be implemented to the letter”.

Olajide, however, urged the people to continue to support the PDP and come out next week Saturday to vote for its governorship candidate, Seyi Makinde, and all other houses of assembly candidates of the party.
