Why I won’t deviate from Baba Ara’s legacy —Kokoro

A protege of the late popular sacred musician, Roland Olomola (Baba Ara), Evangelist Segun Adewole Kokoro, popularly known as Dabira, has revealed why he will not deviate from his leader’s legacy, irrespective of the challenges that may come his way.

The gospel musician fondly called Kokoro, in a ‘chat’ with R said that it is a fulfilled dream that he is upholding the Baba Ara’s legacy and that he has never regretted his decision to follow the pattern of the great musician.

He revealed that, “I received Baba Ara’s blessings before his death and I adopted his style of music before his demise, unlike others who took after him after his death. I am the first musician to take after him and I am happy keeping his legacy. Though it has not been easy, God has remained faithful to me. I am confident that my leader’s songs still remain in the heart of people even when he is no more, because all his works are full of inspirations, spiritual and biblically inclined. These are the main reasons I will not deviate from his music pattern. I also want to keep his memory fresh in the minds of people, especially those that appreciate spiritual songs.”

Adewole, who is planning big for 2-in-1 event; his 25th years on stage and his 15th album launch entitled: “Divine Enlargement” stressed that he remained the leader of the ‘followers’ of the late music icon, just as he also noted that there was synergy among the followers.

He noted that the ‘all-white’ event, which holds on April 9, at the Yinka Ayefele Music House, Challenge, Ibadan, Oyo State, will be graced by the crème de la crème in the music industry, as well as  clerics and fans. The host, popular gospel artiste, Yinka Ayefele, Tope Agbeyo, among other artistes will grace and perform at the event.

Ministers of God including: Reverend Taiwo and Kehinde Alabi; Reverend (Dr) Alice Oyekanmi; Primate Segun Adeoye, among others will also be in attendance.
