Senator Dino Melaye
The embattled Senator Dino Melaye of Kogi west senatorial district has said he would take part in the Saturday supplementary election for Kogi West senatorial district slated for November 30.
This position is a shift from his party’s (PDP) which hinted at a likely boycott.
The PDP had earlier suggested that it would not be participating in the poll because it lacked confidence in the process, citing alleged cases of abuse during the rerun.

However, in a political show on one of the private television programme on Sunday night, Senator Melaye said he and his party would be taking part in the process, not because they had faith in it, but because it was necessary for their planned legal challenge.
Melaye trails Smart Adeyemi of the All Progressives Congress (APC) by over 20,000 votes, a huge deficit to bridge if he is to retain his seat in the senate.
