I want to be the most creative filmmaker across the globe —Olabisi

Budding actress Yusuf Omolara Olabisi, who marked her entry into the film industry with her debut in the movie “Talababo” in 2016 has said she is excited about how much growth her career has experienced in the last few years.

Reflecting on her initial on-camera experience, she expressed immense joy and fulfillment, considering it a dream come true since her early years and her involvement in the church’s drama group.

Olabisi has since showcased her talent in various films, including “Talababo,” “Avarice,” “Ilekun,” “Angeli,” and “Oluwo.”

When asked about her sources of motivation as an actor, she pointed to her environment and everything surrounding her. Her aspirations extend beyond personal success; she aims to bring about positive change in the industry during her time and emerge as a distinguished actor.

Discussing the challenges faced by new faces in the film industry, she acknowledged the difficulties but emphasised the importance of providing ample opportunities for emerging talents. She believes that newcomers possess significant potential and deserve the chance to prove themselves.

She expressed gratitude for the grace of God, acknowledging its role in gaining recognition within the industry.

Looking ahead, Olabisi said she has ambitious plans for the next five years.

She envisioned reaching the pinnacle of success and being a prominent figure among brands both nationally and internationally.

“My goals include being recognised as one of the industry’s best actors produced in the last five years and establishing myself as one of the most creative actors and filmmakers globally.”

In terms of collaborations, Olabisi has set her sights on working with esteemed filmmakers such as Tunde Kelani, and Kunle Afolayan.
