I want to be Nigeria’s greatest singer and songwriter — Emix Jay

The Nigerian music industry has truly evolved, especially in the post-Covid era. No one will truly expect the kind of growth that the industry has experienced during the post covid era, but things have really turned out well. Virtually every rising star in the Nigerian music industry has practically become an instant global sensation, beginning with Omahlay, Tems, Mavin Superstars, Ayra Star, YBNL Superstar, Asake, and others.

Despite the appearance of these super stars, the truth is that there is still room for more emerging musicians to fill because there are never too many superstars in the creative world; instead, there is always room for new ones to fill, which is what Emix Jay, a fast-rising and hardworking musician, is here to do.

Emix Jay, who just launched his full blast music project with the release of 3 chart bursting singles titled Something, The Order and Owonikoko is already making waves across the globe.

Born Emmanuel Oghenerukome Nwafor, the Grind + Grace Music Label’s signed artist, Emix Jay, promises to deliver on these releases. In his words, he said, “I released these singles without any delay, much delay between them, because I want to deliver good music to the global music community.” My fans asked for it, and I delivered it to them, and I am excited that they love all the songs that i have dropped so far. With the type of encouragement that I got at the release of the songs, I do not doubt the ability of at least one of the songs to hit the mainstream. My management is doing all in their power to get the songs out there.

Inspired by superstar singer and songwriter, Peruzzi, Emix Jay says he gets his songwriting inspiration from God. His lyrics are based on real experiences, not fiction. He tries to share as much as possible so that people can be impacted when they listen to the lyrics.

Asked where he wants to be in the next five years, Emix Jay says there is no limit to what he can achieve and that he sees himself putting in more work and becoming one of the finest singers and songwriters to come out of Africa.

His style of singing, which is also his genre, is Afro pop, and while growing up, he listened to songs by Sean Paul, Sean Kingston, Nelly, and Ne-Yo. He infuses what he learned from these super stars and blends it with his afro-pop music style to deliver good music.

Talking about his next plan, Emix Jay says he will be going on a West Africa Campus Tour, which will cover Nigeria, Ghana, and other west African countries.
