How do I tell her that I love her?

Published by

Dear Yemisi,

I am a 16-year-old boy.

I am in love with a girl in my class.

How do I tell her that I am in love with her?

Please, help me,

Anonymous.

Dear Anonymous,

I don’t think you need any girlfriend for now. You have not attained the age of accountability and having a lover at this age of yours might signal confusion and distraction.

From experience, telling her that you love her won’t just stop at the declaration, but it is likely to lead into something disastrous as the two of you are likely to be incapable of handling the outcome of your infatuation.

The phase you are is one that you are unlikely to control your emotions for a member of the opposite sex. Have you the wherewithal to maintain a relationship from the stipend you are being given at home?

Falling in love will not only eat into your purse but get you committed in all its entirety.

My candid advice for you is to let the girl be. You are only infatuated with her, as you cannot explain why you are in love with her. The stage you are is one where you fall in and out of love. Falling in love these days is synonymous with going to bed with your lover. What if you succeed in putting her in the family way? What becomes of your future together?

My dear, please, delay your falling in love with your classmate and face your studies.
