I spent 40 days at EFCC prison, got revelation from God ―gov Lalong

Governor of Plateau State, Rt. Hon. Simon Bako Lalong

APPARENTLY reacting to the travail of the former Governor of Plateau State, Senator Jonah Jang who is presently being detained in Jos Prison, Governor Simon Lalong has stated that he was also a one time visitor of the Prison and had spent 40 days and also received a lot of revelation from God in the course of his detention.

The governor who stated this while delivering his address at the Opening Ceremony of 94th General Church Council of Church of Christ in Nations on Wednesday in Jos said he was once quizzed by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission and consequently detained in prison where he received a lot of revelation from God.

“Before I became the Governor of Plateau State, as a Speaker of the State House of Assembly then, I also slept 40 days in prison, and when I was there I received a lot of revelations. I was ready to face the allegations against me and was also cleared at the end of the day.

“Now as a Governor I know when I vacate the office there will be a time for me to account for my stewardship, but when somebody refuses to humble himself to accept his imperfection, then the law takes it over”.

The Governor urged the church leadership to pray for his administration as well as unite the state to stand for justice adding that church leaders should be partners in the formulation of policies for Government.

Earlier, Senator Jang in his goodwill message to the Church through his former Commissioner of Information and communication Pastor Yiljap Abraham said that his being in the prison is divine intervention and nobody should boast of sending him to the Prison.

Yiljap who read Senator Jang message said, “For me being in the Prison is a great lesson in humility, when I was at the EFCC Abuja I slept on the floor, but here in the Prison I have the privilege of sleeping in the same bed that Former President Olusegun Obasanjo slept when in Jos Prison”, he said.

Former Governor Jonah Jang now a Senator representing Plateau North was reprimand in prison by Jos High Court last week Wednesday and billed to appear in Court today for hearing and ruling of application of bail filed by his Counsel, Robert Clarke (SAN)
