Why I am passionate about the liberation of the girl-child

Lagos State governor, Akinwunmi Ambode, joined millions of Lagosians across the state in the biggest crossover event of 2016 in Nigeria.
Ambode was in attendance at the New Year’s Eve countdown at the Bar Beach, Victoria Island location of One Lagos Fiesta, for the grand finale of the eight-day event.
He stated that Lagosians have reasons to be thankful for the year 2016, also promising not to disappoint citizens in 2017 and hoping to outdo the performance of his administration from the previous year.
The celebration also featured some of the biggest musical artistes in the country, like King Sunny Ade, Adewale Ayuba, Reminisce, Olamide, Lil Kesh, Adekunle Gold, Tiwa Savage, Dr. Sid, Reekado Banks, Patoranking, Falz, M.I Abaga, Ice Prince, Sound Sultan, May D, as well as an extensive fireworks display befitting of Lagos’ megacity status.
A winner also emerged in the maiden edition of Lagos Got Talent competition, a contest aimed at discovering and creating opportunities for young creative Lagosians in entertainment.
