According to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), the complainant, told the court that she was no longer interested in their marriage and would want to redeem herself.
“I am ready to pay him back the N10, 000 dowry he paid on me, so as to redeem myself from the marriage,” she said.
The defendant however, told the court that he still loved his wife and prayed the court to give him time to settle the matter out of court.
He explained that he married the complainant in Ankpa Local Government Area of Kogi State and brought her to Kaduna.

The judge, Musa Sa’ad after listening to both parties, asked the complainant if she had any relative in Kaduna and she answered in affirmative.
“The court is not saying no to the complainant’s prayers as it is in accordance with the Islamic law for a woman to seek divorce through redemption,” he stated.
The judge ordered the complainant to present one of her relatives in court and adjourned the case till November 12.
