I never prevent any legislator from executing intervention project ― Tambuwal

SOKOTO State Governor, Rt. Honourable Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, says the Sokoto State government has never prevented any legislator whether at state or federal level from executing intervention project anywhere in the state.

Tambuwal stated this Wednesday while reacting to a complaint made by the member representing Sokoto north /Sokoto south federal constituency, Hassan Bala Abubakar, that he has been prevented from executing zonal intervention projects.

According to a statement signed by the Director of Press to the state Deputy Governor, Aminu Abdullahi Abubakar, and made available to Tribune Online on Thursday.

According to the statement, Tambuwal was speaking at the annual general meeting of prominent Sokoto indigenes held in the banquet hall of Sultan palace Sokoto, where he said he was not aware of such incidents.

He said, ” Let me remind politicians that period of politicking is over, what remains now is the formation of synergy among both ruling class and opposition with a view to enhancing good governance for the progress of the state.

” I urge the Federal legislators from the state irrespective of their party affiliation, to be contacting the state government in identifying locations for intervention projects so as to avoid duplication of the project in one place between them and the state government,” he added.

On education, Tambuwal reaffirmed the commitment of his administration to improving the sector in the state and called on wealthy individuals, corporate organisations and members of the business community to complement government efforts in that regard.

The Governor announced the personal donation of 2million Naira to the Sokoto education development trust fund and another 5 million nairas to the Sokoto state consultative committee on education development.
