Recall Tribune Online reported that on April 12, 2024, Justice Abimbola Awogboro of the Federal High Court in Lagos sentenced Bobrisky to six months in jail without the option of a fine despite his guilty plea.

The charges stemmed from an incident on April 4, when Bobrisky was arrested for naira abuse at the movie premiere of Eniola Ajao, where he received the award for best-dressed female.

The event sparked a significant controversy among celebrities.
