I hope to keep Juju music alive —Alaba Ultimate

Contrary to the insinuation that the juju music is the genre of Yoruba folk music is alive and well going into oblivion.

Alaba Ultimate, who has been making waves in the last two decades as a juju musician abroad, expressed his delight with the development of the genre of music in the industry, adding that he would not relent in his effort to take the music to a greater height with his talent.

Speaking with R during a media parley, the artiste noted that preparations are in top gear for the launch of his new album entitled: “Breakthtrough”, slated for July 14.

According to him, the album has six tracks including, Oseun Oseun (Thank you Thank you, Jiji moji (I Wake up by God’s grace), Eroya Ewajo (People Let’s Dance) and others.

Reacting on what prompted the new work the artiste said: “My fans had made a demand on him to document his music in an album. As Juju musicians are known to perform a life band, Me and my New York band have been doing music, and performing live shows to a diverse audience in almost all the states in America for about 24 years since I released my debut album entitled: ‘P’egan Re’. This is why I decided to release another album this year and we have concluded plans to launch the album at Ikeja, Lagos on July 14. The event would also be graced by my colleagues in the industry, while Mega ’99, Pasuma and others will perform together at the event.”
