Popular actor and movie producer, Mike Ezuruonye has dispelled rumour flying round about him losing his eyes, urging those spreading what he described as “unfounded lies against him to desist.”
Ezuruonye who confirmed that he actually went under knife to remove a growth encroaching the pupils of his eyes due to over exposure to harsh movie production lights, urged his fans to remain calm as he hopes to return to their screen soon.
Days back, news went viral that the light-skinned actor had gone blind as fans feared they might never see their star actor on screens again. The actor was said to have lost his both eyes and was on the verge of losing his life when the reports came to town.
But Ezuruonye has calmed frayed nerves, saying he was advised by his doctors to remove the problem now in order to avoid a bigger threat to his eyes later when it might be too late.
The actor said the fear of losing his eyes necessitated the surgery that he said lasted for eight hours. According to him, going for the surgery as recommended by a team of doctors scared him as he feared he would go out of sight.
“I was advised to get the surgery done. I was scared after the surgery because it lasted for eight hours. I was without sight for hours as my eyes were tightly closed. This made me to appreciate more the gift of sight God gave me. It was a scary experience and I hope to be back real soon to my work and passion,” he said.
Fans and colleagues of the actor have been sending prayers and love to Ezuruonye as they wish him quick recovery.
