In a statement made available to Saturday Tribune on Friday, Babalola, who represented Oyo North Senatorial District between 2007 and 2011, described the claim by a faction of the opposition party in a media report that he was involved in a meeting convened to reconcile aggrieved members of the party as “a blatant lie.”
He said: “It is imperative for me to draw the attention of the public to the fake news as I was not part of their so-called reconciliation move.
“The opposition should desist from dropping my name in both electronic and print media to market their unwanted product. I have never attended or sent any representatives to any meetings organised by them.”
