Nigeria’s Anne-Marie Osawemwemze Imafidon was decorated by Her Majesty, the Queen of England, Queen Elizbeth II with the prestigious honour of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) for her services to young women with specialty in Sciences, Technology , Engineering and Mathematics(STEM). Imafidon received this award on Saturday May 21 2017.

While speaking about her achievements, the young star said she has always been hooked on technology since she was a little girl. As part of her achievements, she has also produced a documentary and a couple of TV projects, which were aimed at reaching out to  about 15,000 girls for women development. According to her in an exclusive interview, she said, I loved it because I made great money , had great opportunities, worked with fantastic team members , got to travel and played with cool stuff and that’s what really inspired me to think, why are there not more girls involved in this party?

An MBE is an award given by the Queen of England to individuals for outstanding services to the community or local hands on service.

Due to her exceptional brilliance , she received a British scholarship to study Mathematics at John Hopkins University at the age of 13  in 2013.

Anne- marrie holds the record of the youngest girl to ever pass two GCSE examinations for Mathematics and Information Technology and A- level in computing at the age of 11 in Britain.

Speaking further, she said she felt very happy to be honoured by the Queen and that it was God who brought her to that level. Anne-Marie is the first child of Professor Chris Imafidon and Mrs Funke Imafidon. She is also a niece to Venerable Olugbenga Olagundoye and a grand daughter to Mrs Mary Olagundoye .
