I don’t have cancer — Halima Abubakar

Nollywood actress, Halima Abubakar, is not happy at the moment. For months now, the actress has been silent on social media platforms, as those who  should know informed R that she has been keeping a low profile because of health challenges.

Days back, she expressed her anger over an online story doing the rounds that she  was battling with cancer and had to go under  the knife to remove cancerous fibroid from her uterus.

She was said to have lost most of her hair surgery-effect to post surgery medication, but the actress has come out to debunk the claim, even as she threatened a legal action against the platform spewing the content.

Abubakar may not be new to controversies and she has always owned up to her actions without minding whose ox is gored.

The actress said if she had cancer, she would have come out publicly to share the news, just like she did when she had firbroid, adding that she had no close source around her to speak on her behalf.

Abubakar urged for calm and respect from the media, especially the social media platforms as she continues her recovery journey, saying she would appreciate non-factual information and speculation about her health to stop.

According to her, “If I have cancer, just the way I announced my fibroid, I would announce it. Please, I have no source around me and I would appreciate the non-factual and speculation about my health to stop. Allow me to  heal in peace. We heal differently. I am encouraging women out there. But reading lies about my health is sheer wickedness”, she said.
