President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has announced the launch of the Renewed Hope Estates project, a major housing initiative aimed at addressing Nigeria’s housing deficit and stimulating economic growth.
This announcement came during a nationwide broadcast addressing the recent protests and outlining his administration’s achievements.
In his speech, President Tinubu emphasised the government’s commitment to providing affordable housing for Nigerians, stating, “Six months ago in Karsana, Abuja, I inaugurated the first phase of our ambitious housing initiative, the Renewed Hope City and Estate. This project is the first of six we have planned across the nation’s geopolitical zones.”
The Renewed Hope Estates project will see the construction of 500 housing units in each of Nigeria’s 36 states, totaling 18,000 units.
Additionally, the Renewed Hope Cities will include a minimum of 1,000 housing units each, with the Karsana project alone set to deliver 3,212 units.
Tinubu highlighted that this initiative is not only about providing homes but also about creating thousands of jobs across the nation and stimulating economic growth.
“Our goal is to complete a total of 100,000 housing units over the next three years,” Tinubu said.
“This initiative is a testament to our administration’s commitment to improving the living conditions of Nigerians and creating opportunities for economic advancement.”
Tinubu’s announcement of the Renewed Hope Estates comes as part of a broader strategy to rebuild Nigeria’s economy and improve the quality of life for its citizens.
The President detailed several other achievements of his administration, including notable strides in fiscal policy, infrastructure development, and youth empowerment.
President Tinubu also addressed the recent violent protests in various states, expressing his condolences for the lives lost and property destroyed.
He called for an end to the violence and urged protesters to engage in dialogue with the government.
“My dear Nigerians, especially our youth, I have heard you loud and clear. I understand the pain and frustration that drive these protests, and I want to assure you that our government is committed to listening and addressing the concerns of our citizens,” Tinubu said.
“But we must not let violence and destruction tear our nation apart. We must work together to build a brighter future, where every Nigerian can live with dignity and prosperity.”
