A human rights lawyer, Ahmed Abbas, has sought for the speedy passage of the not-too-young-to-run bill currently before the National Assembly.
He said this while delivering a lecture on “Universities Education of 21st Century: The Prospects, The Challenges”, at the National University Summit of the National Association of University Students in Abeokuta, on Wednesday.
He argued that by so doing, young, dynamic and vibrant youths would be encouraged to join politics as contribute meaningfully to the development of the country.
The lawyer added that the country needs good innovative ideas from the younger generation, admitting that the present crop of leaders cannot take Nigeria to her promise land.
He blamed the current woes bedevilling the country on the poor vision of successive leadership.
According to him, ‘Nigerian politicians have turned potential students and youths to use and dump after making sacrifices for them.
“It takes a qualitative leader to know the right thing. Our leaders don’t know the science to solve Nigeria’s problem. What this nation needs is just one voice.

“I am calling on billionaires to look for intelligent young men who have passion, creative, intelligent, smart and resourceful to run for leadership positions.
“We can’t achieve the desired country of our dream until qualitative leadership is put in place, which is the engine room of any nation.
He also sought the empowerment of youths so as to save the citizens from witnessing abject poverty in the nearest future.
