How we feel entering the month of December

Kobe Osagie, 8 years old, Grade 4

I felt very happy on the first day of this month because it ushers us in the Christmas season.  It also marks the end of the month first term examination which I have been committing into the hand of God. In this month, my school paid a visit to an orphanage home to give them gifts as a way to celebrate Christmas with them. I am happy that my school was able to put smiles on the faces of children who have no parents. December is my month of birth so I am glad that I will celebrate another birthday soon. I am happy entering December again because it leads us to a new year.

On the last day of November, I was happy that I would have some rest from school activities. I always enjoy the month of December because it is always fun, being the Christmas month. Another interesting thing about this month is that it is the period of the year when my parents grant all my requests when I pass well in my examinations.

I felt happy entering the month of December because of three things which are: One, it is the last month of the year, I celebrate my birthday (December 28) and also the month of Christmas celebration.  I also like this month because of the various outings. This month, I have set goals for this month; I will be glad if all can be achieved.

I was excited when this month began because we will go on holiday. My parents promised that after my examinations, I would travel to America to celebrate Christmas. I really love the month of December because it is the last one with many festivities like Christmas, Boxing Day, etc. This is the month I ask my parents anything I want and it is given as long as I pass my examinations in flying colours.

My joy knew no bounds when it was November 30. Different thoughts ran through my mind about the month of December. I thought of how I would celebrate Christmas, enter the New Year, 2020 at the end of the month, Christmas chicken, food and party. I could not stop thinking about these things attached to the month o December. I also pray that God will lead me safely through the month. My heart was filled with happiness for the grace to enter the last month and I pray this December is a month to remember for good.

When I was entering the month of December, my whole being was filled with excitement. My heart was full of joy because this month is not just about the celebration of Christmas but also the last in the year that will usher us to a New Year. Again, I felt excited because my dad will remember all the promises he had made to me. At the beginning of this month, I was also happy because my church will observe a programme called ‘Shiloh 2019.’ I thank God because I could make it to the last month of the years because some could not make it. I really feel enthusiastic about entering December because a glorious Christmas is in view.

I was really happy on the first day of December because it is the month of Christmas. My dad will buy me a tablet because I don’t have a phone. Also, I am happy 2019 is coming to an end and a new one will start soon. It is the month everywhere is decorated with green, red and gold decorations for the purpose of Christmas celebrations  and also harmattan period when we experience cold weather and dryness in the air. December is the month when the air is filled with Christmas songs; it is a time of the year no one wants to miss because of its many joyful events.

December has always been my best month of the year because it is my birthday month and I used to receive a lot of gifts; I am glad that this year, I will clock 10 years so I was happy I can enter it.  This month should be the favourite of Christians because it is the month we celebrate the Christmas. I like December because as it makes me feel God has answered my prayer especially to cross over to New Year. Again, I felt happy at the beginning of this month because as we celebrate Jesus Christ’s birth, we would get new clothes, shoes, etc. If I could make a wish for this month, I wish that orphans should be cared for.

Ayoade Adegbesote, 8 years old

I felt happy entering the month December because there are many celebrations like my father’s birthday on December 13th and younger sister’s on 25th which coincides with Christmas.  I am going to have a lot of fun at Domino’s Pizza, Coldstone and Shoprite. I will get some gifts this season- a remote control car and drone and also a bicycle.  I am happy that our first term examinations have come to an end in this month as well so I will travel to Lagos for holiday.

December,  my month of joy. On December 1, people congratulated me for my birthday in advance.  I was excited when the month started because I will celebrate my birthday on the 17th. I love everything about December- my birthday wishes and gifts, the cold weather, the sensational feeling about Christmas like the Christmas songs, decorations, Father Christmas, and the like.
