How use of legal tech skills will enhance access to justice — Business Lawyer, Abimo

A business lawyer and digital law practice consultant, Abimo Olayiwola, has stated that the use of legal technological skills will help enhance access to justice.

Abimo noted that legal technological skills can help create legal solutions to challenges in the field if used.

According to her, legal technology is the future of law practice adding that it will be useful for practitioners and law students in finding solutions to legal challenges.

She said this on Tuesday during Law Week organised by the Law Students Association of Leadcity University held at the Leadcity University International Conference Center.

The events organised in celebration of the week include Symposiums, Cultural day, dinner, an award ceremony and the launch of the law journal in celebration of the Institution’s law week.

Speaking on the topic “Innovations in legal practice: Harnessing technology as an access to justice“, she noted “It is a good opportunity to enlighten law students about legal technology because it is the future of legal practice.

“Technology is here to make our lives easier as lawyers, legal practitioners and law students in order to be relevant as legal practitioners of this age.

“Legal technologists find solutions to legal challenges through the use of technological skills in a bid to create legal solutions to enhance access to justice,“ she concluded

Also speaking at the event, Partner and Co-founder of High Tower Solutions and Advocates, Akinyemi Ayinoluwa, explained that it is important for lawyers to embrace technology to make life easier in solving problems of their clients.

He lamented that Nigeria does not have enough lawyers who embraced technology while he urged lawyers to embrace technology in their various legal practice.

He said, “ I am happy to enlighten the next generation of lawyers on the use of legal technology to make things easier and better for them when they become lawyers and when they are still students “.
