How Onuh Edoka is Revolutionizing Healthcare in Africa with Innovative Solutions

Published by

Onuh E. Edoka, a visionary entrepreneur, co-founded his company on June 3, 2020, driven by a passion for advancing equitable healthcare in Africa.

Inspiring Change Through Technology and Community Resources, Fedox Pharmancy has been leveraging technology and community resources to bridge the healthcare gap in Nigeria. By partnering with telehealth platforms, they offer virtual consultations, integrating pharmacy-based telemedicine services into their offerings. “This model has heightened the adoption of telemedicine among community pharmacies in Nigeria, creating affordable virtual doctor consultations for communities and quality medicines simultaneously,” Edoka explained.

Nigeria’s doctor-patient ratio stands at 1:10,000, far below the WHO recommendation of 1:600. Fedox Pharmancy innovative solutions aim to reduce this disparity. “Community pharmacies are often the first point of contact for patients, especially in remote areas,” Edoka noted. “We’re committed to creating supplementary solutions to ameliorate this disparity.”

Talking about Community Health Initiatives, Edoka’s company has implemented various community health initiatives, including: Health Education Workshops: Educating communities on disease prevention, Screening Programs: Offering basic health screenings, Vaccination Drives: Organizing immunization clinics, Feedback Mechanism: Collecting feedback to tailor initiatives.

A notable partnership with the Kabusa and Dakwo community in Abuja has led to a comprehensive health education program focused on diabetes management. “This program has increased awareness about diabetes prevention and management, resulting in a decline in diabetes-related complications,” Edoka said.

Fedox Pharmancy has held over 50 programs and events, demonstrating their commitment to community health. “A healthy community is a productive community,” Edoka emphasized.

“We’re dedicated to continuing our efforts to advance equitable healthcare in Africa,” he added.
