Fast-rising Nigerian artist Abolade Adetunji, popularly known as Abolade 369, has shared how his health challenges sparked his deep passion for music.
In an interview with newsmen in Lagos, Abolade recounted receiving devastating news during a routine medical check-up, where his doctor informed him that his chances of recovery were a mere 0.09%. Overcome with shock and fear, Abolade explained that he encountered a friend who introduced him to a recording studio for the first time.
After the recording session, he went home, praying fervently to God for a second chance. The following week, he was astounded to learn that his medical condition had improved after a follow-up checkup.
Abolade now uses his music to tell his story, channelling both his struggles and triumphs into his art. He firmly believes in the healing, inspirational, and unifying power of music. Reflecting on the turning point in his life, Abolade said, “When I received the devastating news during my medical check-up, the doctor told me my chances of recovery were only 0.09%.
“Overwhelmed with fear and uncertainty, I returned home in shock. It was in that moment of despair that I realized the true value of life and my dreams.
“By chance, the very next day, I met a friend who took me to a local studio where an artist was recording. I seized the opportunity and asked the producer for a brief session. That moment marked the beginning of my journey as a recording artist.
“That night, I prayed with all my heart, asking for another chance to live and to pursue my musical dreams. A week later, I went for a follow-up test, and to my surprise, the results were positive. The doctor was amazed, but I knew my prayers had been answered.
“Grateful for this second chance, I embraced it as the turning point in my music career.
“Today, I am devoted to sharing my story through music, pouring my life’s struggles and triumphs into my art. I believe music has the power to heal, inspire, and unite, and I am excited to continue this journey, connecting with audiences across the world.”
