Omowunmi, the suspected human trafficker
A victim of human trafficking, Victoria Oshioke, has narrated how she was sold to Mali for N350,000 when she was just 16 years old.
Oshioke in a statement she made to the NSCDC officials said that she was first trafficked to Mali by her boyfriend.
She added that the boyfriend later sold her to a Benin Republic-based syndicate for N350,000.
The victim was again about to be trafficked to an unnamed African country when operatives of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) intercepted another trafficking syndicate in Lagos.

30-year-old leader of the syndicate, Omowunmi, was arrested at her home in Iyana Ipaja after a disagreement with two of the victims including Oshioke.
Omowunmi revealed to NSCDC officials that she usually makes N18,600 per victim anytime she trafficks Nigerian ladies for prostitution to African countries, especially Mali.
The leader had demanded an upfront payment of N1 million by each of the victims before she would hand them over to the main dealer who is based in Cotonou, the Benin Republic capital.
It was also learnt that the suspect, having failed in her desperate bid to secure any financial commitment from the victims threatened to return them to Edo State where they were recruited from.
It was further gathered that two of the victims, Oshioke and Joy Aloaye stormed out of the house in anger.
