How I survived prostate cancer at 82 — Ebenezer Obey

Renowned musician, Ebenezer Obey has shared how he survived prostate cancer at the age of 82 years, describing it as a result of a miracle and the help of Nigerian doctors.

According to Saturday’s Beats,  Ebenezer expressed profound gratitude for emerging from the brink of mortality.

He said, “It is by the grace of God that I survived prostate surgery at the age of 82, I owe my recovery to the prayers of my friends, fans, and well-wishers who stood by me during my ordeal. Their visits to the hospital uplifted my spirits.”

Obey, known for his legendary contributions to music, revealed a profound spiritual encounter during his convalescence. “God revealed to me that my earthly mission was far from over.

He assured me of more assignments,” Obey shared, his resolve unwavering. “I am determined to fulfill these divine tasks and share my testimony during my upcoming 82nd birthday celebration on April 3.”

Reflecting on his tribulation, Obey acknowledged the pivotal role of Nigerian medical practitioners alongside the power of prayer in his recovery journey.

Obey also wants to raise awareness about prostate enlargement by releasing a song about it based on his own experience.

He’s thankful his condition wasn’t cancerous. He also mentioned having another surgery on his legs two years ago, which had complications, but he managed to get through it with the help of God.

Despite these health challenges, Obey is determined to keep singing, believing that music is what keeps him going.

He plans to do charitable activities for his birthday in nine different places, including visiting schools for the blind and leper colonies. The celebrations will end with a thanksgiving service in Lagos.
