The publicity committee of the zamfara state chapter of the All Progressive Congress (APC) has described the giant strides of former governor Abdul Aziz Yari Abubakar in agricultural sector as laudable, saying Yari bought over N2.2billion assorted fertiliser for farmers for this year’s farming season before he left office.

Addressing members of the APC social media team at the party secretariat in Gusau on Sunday, the secretary of the publicity committee Alhaji Ibrahim Danmaliki Gidan goga, said the immediate past administration under governor Yari has boosted agricultural activities in the state.

“Yari was the only governor who sold fertiliser in the history of Nigeria at the cost of one thousand naira per bag during the first tenure of his administration in the state”.

He mentioned that farming which is the pride of zamfara people needs to be encouraged through provision of farm equipments such as enough fertiliser, tractors, insecticide in the state.

Gidan Goga, argued that the ten million naira given to the zamfara state fertiliser blending company as resuscitation funds was nothing to celebrate “ this was only the cost of two trucks of fertiliser, compared to former governor Yari who bought over N2.2billion assorted fertiliser before he left office”.

He advised members of the social media team in the state to always be accurate and unbiased in posting the activities of APC, adding that members are expected to be committed, focus their report that would bring development in the state.
