How does sperm donation work?

Published by

I read about one of your readers who needed a sperm donor to get her wife pregnant because of his difficulty in getting her pregnant. I also have a similar problem but my worry is how the process will be done because I can’t allow another man to sleep with my wife just because I want a child. Kindly educate me on how the process works.

Insemination from a Sperm Donor does not include Sexual Intercourse. The Sperm Donor must have been thoroughly examined and screened to confirm that he does not have any Genetic or  Sexually Transmitted Diseases. The next thing is for the doctor to calculate the moment in your wife’s menstrual cycle when she will most likely be able to get pregnant (Fertile Period). This is when some of the sperm collected from the donor through masturbation is introduced into your wife’s womb through her cervix by means of a Syringe. This procedure can be repeated until your wife eventually gets pregnant. In order to avoid the possibilities of the Sperm Donor coming to claim the baby in future, the identity of you and your wife will be kept secret from that of the Sperm Donor and vice versa. The best success rates of using donor insemination are in the cases where the woman is free of any fertility issues and under the age of 35 years old
