How Coozy Productions and Extravaganza is refining the entertainment landscape in Abeokuta

Published by

Abeokuta may not always be the first name that comes to mind when people talk about Nigeria’s entertainment hotspots, but Coozy Productions and Extravaganza is on a mission to change that narrative. Founded in 2024 by Ibrahim Sodiq Adekunle, popularly known as Spenz, the brand is fast becoming a cultural force that is reimagining the city’s social life through dynamic events, immersive concerts, and youth-focused experiences. From the electric highs of CoozyFest to the intimate thrill of Coozy Rave, Coozy Productions and Extravaganza is creating a movement that feels both fresh and rooted in local pride.

In just over a year, the brand has demonstrated its ability to deliver more than just good vibes. CoozyFest 1.0, their flagship event held in December 2024, pulled in a crowd of over 1,500 people and featured heavy hitters like TikTok sensation Arike Pre-order, DJ Lawy, DJ Diamond and others. It was a statement that Abeokuta’s entertainment scene was entering a new era.

But Coozy Productions and Extravaganza isn’t just powered by vision, but also thrive on teamwork. Behind the scenes, a tight-knit squad helps shape each moment: Lawal Ibrahim aka Lawy (Team lead, DJ/Entertainment department), Thomas Lawrence Adedeji (Accountant), Soliu-deen Mukthar aka MFTT (Operations Manager), and other Coozy executive members form part of a passionate crew pushing the brand forward. For Spenz, it’s always been about more than just the lights and sound. “What we are building here is more than just entertainment, it’s a space where people can come together, a community that unites the generations and creates memories,” he explains.

Following the success of CoozyFest 1.0 in December, the brand kept the energy alive with Coozy Rave in April 2025, featuring DJ Consequence and many hypemen. It was another hit that packed the same punch and drew an even wider audience of curious, eager locals looking for fresh thrills.

What truly sets the brand apart is its commitment to community-building and inclusivity. Their events aren’t just Gen Z playgrounds, but also multigenerational melting pots, designed to bridge the cultural and social gaps that often define the city. “We are creating a space where everyone can come together, no matter your age or background. We are cultivating a culture, a movement. And this is just the beginning,” says Lawy, Team lead, DJ/Entertainment department.

Looking ahead, Coozy Productions shows no signs of slowing down. With the much-anticipated return of CoozyFest 2.0 in December, the calendar is already buzzing with promise. But there’s more: Coozy Market, a new initiative to spotlight local vendors and creatives, is poised to make a meaningful impact on the local economy and cement the brand’s role as a cultural and economic catalyst. The team is also gearing up to expand their digital footprint, with plans to roll out consistent content on YouTube, TikTok and Instagram—behind-the-scenes footage, event recaps, lifestyle segments, and more—ensuring that the Coozy experience resonates both offline and online. “We want to continue giving people in Abeokuta and across Nigeria a reason to celebrate and come together,” says Spenz. “Our mission is simple: to redefine what entertainment can be in this city.”
