Ibinabo Fiberesima
Actress and ex-beauty pageantry contestant, Ibinabo Fiberesima, has lamented her fate over the past few years as she had to battle failures, surgeries and demons.
Fiberesima started as a beauty pageant contestant in the 90s competing in several contests and emerging runners-up twice for the Most Beautiful Girl in Nigeria, in 1992 and 1998.
She successfully made a career switch to acting and became renowned especially for roles played in films such as ‘Most Wanted’, ‘Letters to a Stranger’, ‘Pastor’s Wife’, among others. She rose to become the President of Actors’ Guild of Nigeria.
However, her tale of misfortune started when she was sentenced to a jail term of five years on accusation of manslaughter.
She revealed last week that she could not believe the peace she was enjoying in her life after series of failures, losses and breast surgeries.
“I am in this crazy calm space in life right now… It feels surreal. Over the past few years, lots have happened. I have failed several times, succeeded a few, battled my inner demons. I loved and lost and love and lost again and again. Had several breast surgeries that were scary,” she said.
“Despite all of these, my heart still has the crazy ability to embrace this life with pure unadulterated hope for the future,” she added.
