How ailment at 5 turned me to a pharmacist ― Obiora

The Chairman, Greenlife Pharmaceuticals Limited, Dr Obiora Chukwuka has disclosed that his ailment at five years old made him become a Pharmacist.

Dr Obiora made this disclosure at his Investiture Ceremony as the National Patron Of Association Of Community Pharmacist of Nigeria held at Afficient Event Centre, Kano.

“The honour to me is a life vision fulfilled. It may interest you to know that Greenlife Pharmaceuticals Limited is a product of vision. This Vision was formed out of the experience I had in 1968 during the Nigerian Civil War.

“Then, I was five years old and so many children like me had various ailments. I suffered hepatitis which was severe, but God used the Red Cross members who worked so hard to treat all the children including me and the majority of us were saved.

“After I was treated, I developed much love for Red Cross Society as I saw their action as a service to God and humanity.

“This led to my promise to be a member of the Red Cross as I grew older, so that I can serve others.

“I worked so effectively in my school as a member of the Red Cross, trying as much as I could to meet the needs of students’ healthcare and this formed the vision to build Greenlife Pharmaceuticals.

He, however, said that there was a little diversion delving into sales apprenticeship after secondary school but was not deterred.

“I got back on my track and started Caleb Pharmacy in idumota in February 1985.

“Today, Caleb Pharm Ltd has metamorphosed into Greenlife Pharmaceuticals at ilupeju.

“The Company has immensely contributed to the Pharmaceutical industry in 2006,” He said.
