Hot, sizzling trends to look out for in 2017

Last week, STYLE looked at some not-so-stylish trends that should be waved goodbye with the year 2016 and offered reasons why it should be so. This week, it  is all about the trends that are likely to rule the fashion scene in 2017 as worn by celebrities, fashionistas, designers and style enthusiasts to high profiled red carpet events, end of the year parties and award ceremonies during the last weeks of 2016. These trends include:

The one colour all-round trend

A simple recipe for a standout look is to pick one colour and stick with it from head to toe.  Fashionistas and socialites like, Yetunde Ajibade and Zusi wore this gorgeous trend to a glamorous event held in Lagos recently, and were the cynosure of all eyes.

Mixed ankara prints

The mixed ankara prints trend involves the use of similar ankara prints to create a visually appealing profile. This trend is fast gaining popularity. Television show host, Idia Aissien and her friend looked gorgeous in it.

Clear sunglasses

The trending clear sunglasses frames have been around for many years, but they have just recently gained more popularity. Being colourless or having only very slight tints, they are almost invisible from afar. Style blogger and daughter of billionaire business man, Femi Otedola; Temi, looked flawless with the clear sunglass trend.

One shoulder shirts

I guess we must all be familiar with the one shouldered dress, blouse and jumpsuit style but the one shouldered office shirt is the new ‘it’ trend. Style blogger, Soraya Morayo just gave us a new fashion goals judging by how she wore hers.

Cut-out shoulder jumpsuits

The cut-out trend started late last year and is still reigning supreme.  Media personality, Moet Abebe rocked the trend during the Soundcity end of the year party held a week ago.

Slip-on dresses

The slip-on or spaghetti strap dress is also not left out in the emerging trends that will make 2017 an exciting fashionable year.
