Hoodlums kill two Police officers in Imo

Hoodlums on Monday killed two police personnel at Ahiara Junction in Ahiazu Mbaise Local Government Area of Imo State.

The officers were heading towards Ahiara junction when the hoodlums sighted them and started shooting, resulting in the killing of two police personnel.

The situation, resulting from sporadic shootings by the hoodlums, forced residents of the area and passersby to scamper for their safety to unknown destinations.

Confirming the incident in a statement issued in Owerri on Monday, the Imo State Police Command Public Relations Officer, ASP Henry Okoye, said that efforts are being made to track down the killers of the two police personnel.

He mentioned that both the Commissioner of Police, Imo State Command, CP Aboki Danjuma, and the Commander of the 34 Artillery Brigade, along with Joint Task Force (JTF) operatives, are already combing the scene of the crime for evidence that will possibly lead to the arrest of the hoodlums responsible for the attack and killing of two policemen.
