OYO State House of Assembly has urged state governor, Abiola Ajimobi, to honour an indigene of the state, Mr Oluwasayo Babalola, for having distinction in nine subjects in the May/June 2015 West African Senior School Certificate Examination.
Babalola, who graduated from Oritamefa Baptist Model School, Ibadan, had been invited to Thursday’s plenary of the Assembly, upon a motion by Deputy Speaker, Honourable Abdulwasi Musa, to recognize Babalola’s feat.
According to Speaker, Honourable Michael Adeyemo, the honour for Babalola was to reward hard work, excellence and to encourage today’s students to be studious and diligent in their endeavours in life.
Chairman, parliamentary caucus, Honourable Segun Ajanaku, who described Babalola’s feat as a gift from God, admonished parents to train their children or wards to be disciplined and God fearing.
Babalola, in his remarks, said he dreamt of a country devoid of corruption, where Nigerians shunned individual for collective interest.
Babalola, 17 years, is currently a student of Medicine and Surgery in the University of Ibadan.
