Honeywell tasks youths on innovation, entrepreneurship

Published by

The Honeywell Flour Mills Plc has that it will  intensify its efforts to develop youth skills and also promote their creative talents so that  they can focus less on non-existing white collar jobs and imbibe the spirit of entrepreneurship.

The Managing Director of the company, Mr Lanre Jaiyeola, who stated this at the Honeywell Wheat Meal Cooking Competition held at the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Lagos State camp, Iyana Ipaja, noted that every individual has innate skills which, when properly harnessed, would push them beyond their limitations.

Jaiyeola, who was represented by Innovation and Consumer Insight Manager, Mr Lanre Da-Silva, restated the company’s readiness to continue aligning with any cause to promote entrepreneurship as exemplified in the quantum support it is giving to the NYSC and other similar youth-oriented activities. He advised youth to embrace entrepreneurship, saying the modern day economy is driven largely by handworks demonstrated in small and medium scale enterprises.

The competition, according to him is aimed at bringing out the unique skills of the corps members with a view to equipping them for future challenges.

“It provides an opportunity to establish a first contact with tomorrow’s mothers especially who are the major decision makers in the family, to have affinity with the company’s various brands. For us, this is a very important touch point with the core decision makers, with the people who make purchase decision in the homes”, he said.

Lagos State NYSC co-coordinator, Prince Momoh Mohammed, while commending Honeywell for the gesture, noted that “the event has created a platform for the corp members who are our future leaders to exhibit their creative capabilities and get adequately rewarded.”
