Homosexual: Police arrest suspect, accomplice on the run

The Sango Police Command, Ibadan, Oyo State, have apprehended a man suspected to have been caught in the act of homosexuality, while his accomplice has been reported to have been on the run after the incident.

The command noted that one Mr Aderemi Bamidele and Mr Ojo Gabriel Adelowo were caught in the act on August 27, 2018, by residents of Alaro, neighbourhood, Sango, Ibadan, but Adelowo had escaped before the arrival of the policemen to the scene of the event.

The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO),
Mr. Adekunle Ajisebutu, said, “We got a distress call from Alaro neighbourhood on the incident and we immediately swing to action to arrest and control the situation, but unfortunately one of the suspects has been on the run knowing fully well that the crime he committed is a punishable offence under the Nigerian law. But the command has since declared him wanted, while his accomplice is in our custody.”

According to an eyewitness who pleaded anonymity, said the duo were caught in the act in the resident as they were conveniently engaging in homosexuality before one of the neighbours raised the alarm.

“We had a shout from the neighbourhood by a woman. The noise was terrifying, which made people around the neighbourhood rush out to see what must have warranted such noise.

“She spoke in a loud voice about what has happened at her residence and people rush in to see the two men involved.

“As they were about to be dealt with by the crowd, some set of people advised the neighbourhood to handover the case to the police before the situation gets out of hand, but unfortunately, before the arrival of the policemen one of the persons involved ran away,” the eye witness added.
