HoF out to improve members’ wellbeing — Club President, Otoibhi

President, House of Friendship (HoF), Pastor Henry Otoibhi, has reiterated that the club’s ultimate aim is to make life better for its members as well as the society, as it’s established to complement one another in various disciplines.

Speaking at the Annual General Meeting of the club held on Saturday at the Solam Events Centre, Ibadan, Otoibhi, said the group identifies with every member’s challenges and is always there to provide succour.

“We realise that love is the goodwill that holds a friend in a friendship. We see love as the overall base to run HoF Club by allowing loyalty and trust to bear the burden of one another.

“Also, for us not to be judgemental, honesty is our watchword, by telling it as it is and caring for one another.

So, this should be the stabilising factor binding us together as a club,” he said, adding that HoF is a group of friends with full commitment to the club.

He emphasised that their projection for the new year is to embark on a membership drive.

“The kind of people we are looking for are people who are meaningfully engaged and have verified jobs. You don’t have any bad records, must be married, God-fearing, and be interested in relating to people.

“We don’t want people with bad records, so we are very careful with the number of people we bring in to join us.

“During my tenure, we have been able to build and launch our constitution, we have our muffler as a means of identifying ourselves at any gathering.

“We want to ascribe to the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) for members for health and wellbeing. Right now, we are subscribing to be part of the Oyo State HIS present before we proceed to be part of the national for the welfare of the members. We care for our wives and children and we try to empower ourselves business-wise.

“I want to assure you that this is a house that is filled with the spirit of friendliness in friendship, just because we are always standing together in togetherness and in accord concordia,” Otoibhi said.

Meanwhile, the immediate past president of HoF, Dr Akintola Akin-Lewis, in his remarks, said that HoF is not a club that is open to just anybody.

He said the next level for the club is to get registered properly, and once that is done, they will be able to do a lot more things legally.

“We don’t want to run foul of the law but even then, we still do things for the poor and ourselves. Every month we hold meetings in each other’s homes to know how we are faring,” he said.
